Reservoir Characterization Research Laboratory

The RCRL Team is excited to announce our 2024 Core Workshop to be held June 3-6, 2024, at the BEG-HRC facility in Houston, TX. This year's workshop will focus on Mesozoic age reservoirs with an emphasis on the greater Gulf of Mexico basin.  Attached is more information regarding the workshop and presentations.

This workshop features 25 cores of the GOM Mesozoic system and is truly unique bringing together decades of research on the topic. On June 3-6, we will emphasize the Gulf of Mexico basin and provide comparisons to global occurrences of similar age systems from the Middle East and South Atlantic. This workshop will delve into the interplay of core-log-seismic-based stratigraphic architecture, structural configuration, and facies-pore type distributions that are critical to GOM production from Jurassic and Cretaceous reservoirs that range in location from Central Mexico, Texas and into Florida.
